The word 'truth' is a bit of a double-edged sword, in that, when you use it, it's supposed to mean something. But in practice, if you said to someone, "I'm seeking the truth," they'd look at you with a mixture of incredulity and annoyance. It's not quite right to say that everybody is seeking the truth, but it's true that nobody ever says they're seeking the abstraction called truth.
